Schedule of Events 2018 

Our Activities

The Nassau Village Beautification Committee presents the following events for summer 2018. With the exception of the yard sale, all take place at the Village Commons Park on John Street.

Saturday, June 9 Village Wide Yard Sale 9 am - 3 pm  Property owners are invited to take part on their yards and lawns. No fee to participate.

Thursday, July 19 Gazebo Concert 7 pm  Nassau Community Band. Your "hometown" brass band with old-time favorites.

Saturday, July 28 Chicken Bar-B-Que  4 - 6 pm  Rain or shine, New this year - take out only. Reservations needed by July 24th. Tickets at Nassau Village Hall or phone reservations at (518) 766-2291. 

Sunday, July 29 Nassau Stories - "Show & Tell Your Nassau Stories" 2 - 4 pm  In anticipation of the 200th anniversary of incorporation in 2019, we are starting to think back to Nassau of yesterday and saving those stories, pictures and artifacts. Open to all to share or just sit and listen. Under the Gazebo at the Village Commons. 

Saturday, Sept 8 Nassaufest 11 am - 3 pm  Kid’s carnival games, com’ty group booths, musical entertainment, fun for the whole family. Community groups invited.

Sunday, September 30 Oktoberfest 12- 4 pm  with The Bavarian Barons. Celebrate the traditional end-of-season harvest fest! German food specialties and music, under the tents.

2018 Meeting Schedule
The Committee meets monthly (April - October) at the Village Hall on the Third Monday of each month. Meetings start 7 PM and last approximately 1 hour. All are welcome. Community suggestions and comments are important to us!

Our Plantings & Upkeep
From its inception, the "beautification" part of the Committee has been in seasonal plantings of flowers and the upkeep of shrubs and trees at the Village Commons Park on John Street. Currently we maintain the following:

  • Perennial Bed at the Village Commons
  • Gazebo Upkeep and flowering boarders at the Village Commons
  • Welcome to Nassau entry signs, including the flower bed at Albany Avenue
  • Window boxes on the Albany Avenue bridge over the Valatiekill
  • Flowers, shrubs and trees at the Village Square including around the Veterans' Memorial
